Reports to finance leadership

A growing, investor-backed company with teams in several states
is hiring someone to own payroll end to end. This is a hands-on
role for someone who likes getting the numbers right, keeping
things compliant, and being the person employees can come to with
pay and benefits questions.

The role

You’ll run regular payroll cycles for a workforce spread across
more than one location and state, then follow through when
something doesn’t look right. That includes updates when people
join, leave, change roles, or adjust deductions, plus keeping
clean records along the way.

You’ll also support benefits administration, including helping
the team through open enrollment, and you’ll work closely with
finance and department leaders so reporting stays accurate. A big
part of the job is being a steady, discreet resource for
employees while making sure pay practices stay in line with
federal, state, and local rules.

A good fit usually has

* A few years processing payroll, ideally in an environment with
more than one site or business unit
* Comfort with wage and hour rules and the compliance side of
paying people
* Experience with an HRIS or payroll platform
* A habit of handling sensitive employee information carefully
* The ability to stay organized, communicate clearly, and solve
issues without much hand-holding
* Availability to work in office five days a week

This person should be able to support several leaders and parts
of the business at once, not just run a single, straightforward
payroll file.
