Regional Director / Fractional CEO

Sector: Managed Service Providers (MSP) / Private Equity Portfolio Location: Winnipeg or Edmonton (Preferred); Calgary or Saskatoon (Acceptable) Travel: High (Regular travel between Winnipeg and Edmonton required)


The Opportunity

Our client, a private investment firm, is seeking a high-impact, "natural leader" to step into a critical Regional Manager role overseeing two distinct Managed Service Provider (MSP) businesses. This is a high-stakes, "quick turnaround" mandate designed for a decisive executive capable of functioning as a 50/50 Fractional CEO for both entities.


The objective is clear: step in immediately to overhaul existing operations, replace current management teams, and deliver transformative results within a strict nine-month window.


Core Mandate & Responsibilities


    Executive Oversight: Provide high-level leadership and fractional CEO-level guidance for two separate MSP businesses located in Winnipeg and Edmonton.
    Operational Overhaul: Identify and correct systemic inefficiencies by implementing robust service delivery policies and procedures to replace failing existing frameworks.
    Leadership Transition: Execute a comprehensive plan to replace the incumbent management teams at both locations within the first nine months of the engagement.
    Strategic Management: Ensure both businesses are managed to a high standard of excellence while maintaining their status as independent, separate corporate entities.
    Regional Presence: Maintain a consistent, hands-on presence across the territory, necessitating regular travel and visibility at both primary office locations.


The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a "turnaround specialist" with a proven track record of driving rapid organizational change.


    Executive Pedigree: You are a former CEO, Director, or an accomplished leader who has successfully scaled or managed a smaller MSP.
    Change Agent: You possess the "natural leadership" required to command respect, make difficult personnel decisions, and pivot a company's culture and operations simultaneously.
    Operational Expert: You have deep expertise in MSP service delivery and a "primary focus" on building efficient, scalable operational procedures.
    Immediate Impact: You are ready to engage with the businesses immediately and can demonstrate previous success delivering results on compressed timelines (9 months or less).


Location & Requirements


    Primary Base: Ideally located in Winnipeg or Edmonton.
    Secondary Base: Candidates in Calgary or Saskatoon will be considered, provided they can commit to the travel requirements.
    Mobility: Must be fully comfortable with frequent regional travel between the Winnipeg and Edmonton offices.
