Position: Property Accountant

Core Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly financial statement packages, including journal entries, general ledger reviews, and balance sheet support schedules.
● Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all financial deliverables are accurate and submitted on time to Regional Managers and ownership groups.
● Cash Management: Monitor cash balances and manage all debt service, real estate tax, sales tax, and owner distribution payments.
● Reconciliations: Complete bi-weekly Inter-Project Account reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations, resolving items in a timely manner.
● Analysis: Review and document variances in financial statements, providing clear explanations for significant fluctuations.
● Property Transitions: Assist in the setup and transition of new assets, including beginning balance loading, sale pro-ration calculations, and closing entries.
● Audit Support: Coordinate and handle client audit requests as the primary point of contact for financial data
Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance preferred. (Equivalent experience of 4+ years may be considered).
● Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience, ideally within the real estate or property management industry. CPA designation is a plus.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with industry-standard real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi) is highly preferred.
● Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to internal stakeholders and clients.
● Mindset: A proactive, "customer service" approach to internal team collaboration and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
