Job Description

Full time Controller needed in Mesa! You'll role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and upholding financial integrity across the organization. This position manages a team of accounting professionals, publishes financial statements, and provides financial insights that support strategic business decisions.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Financial Reporting & Accuracy

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.

• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Present financial reports and analysis to organizational leadership.


2. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the development of the annual budget.

• Monitor actual performance against budget and explain variances.


3. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain internal control systems governing purchasing, expenses, and financial processes.

• Oversee tax filings and regulatory reporting.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the audit process.


4. Accounting Operations Management

• Supervise and develop accounting staff across AP, AR, and related functions.

• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.

• Manage client‑related billbacks and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.


5. Strategic & Leadership Support

• Provide financial modeling and analysis to support executive decision‑making.

• Contribute to long‑range financial planning and strategic initiatives.

• Participate in risk assessments and operational reviews.


6. Technology & Systems Oversight

• Maintain data integrity across financial systems.

• Optimize workflows, processes, and automation opportunities.

• Support technical troubleshooting and system enhancements.

• Common platforms used may include ERP, expense management, travel systems, and reporting tools.


Required Skills & Abilities:


• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

• CPA preferred but not 100% necessary

• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while managing multiple priorities.

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in financial review.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong commitment to ethical standards and adherence to company policies.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.

• Customer‑service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders and clients.


Minimum Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of accounting experience

• Any required certifications or clearances applicable to the organization or industry.
