Senior Project Billing Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically-minded Senior Project Billing Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will act as the critical link between project management and corporate accounting, ensuring that complex project portfolios are billed accurately, recognized according to revenue standards, and optimized for cash flow.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment and possesses the analytical rigor to untangle intricate contract terms and financial discrepancies.

Full-Cycle Project Billing: Manage the end-to-end billing process for a diverse portfolio of projects (Time & Materials, Fixed Price, and Milestone-based).
● Contract Compliance: Review client contracts to ensure billing setups, rate tables, and overhead applications align strictly with legal and financial terms.
● Revenue Recognition: Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to ensure project earnings are recorded in compliance with ASC 606 or relevant accounting standards.
● Unbilled Analysis: Perform monthly reconciliations of Unbilled Receivables and Deferred Revenue; investigate and resolve "stuck" WIP (Work in Progress).
● Project Partnering: Conduct monthly "Project Health" reviews with Project Managers to forecast billing schedules and identify potential budget overruns.
● Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the "quote-to-cash" cycle and lead initiatives to automate or streamline invoicing workflows.
Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
● Experience: 5+ years of experience in project-based billing or project accounting (Professional Services, Construction, or GovCon experience preferred).
● Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query). Experience with ERP systems like Deltek Vantagepoint/Costpoint, Oracle NetSuite, or SAP is highly desirable.
● Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex contract language into functional billing logic.
● Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to navigate difficult conversations regarding budgets and collections with internal and external stakeholders.
