Job Description: Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor
As an Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our accounts receivable department. This role is a blend of team leadership, financial analysis, and relationship management. You will ensure that the company’s cash flow remains healthy by managing billing accuracy, credit risk, and timely collections.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, possesses a sharp eye for detail, and can maintain a professional demeanor when negotiating with clients or mentoring staff.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor the AR team. Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and manage daily workflows to ensure all deadlines are met.

Invoicing & Billing: Oversee the generation and distribution of accurate invoices. Ensure all billing cycles are completed on time and resolve any discrepancies.

Collections Management: Monitor the aging report and spearhead collection efforts for delinquent accounts. Negotiate payment plans and manage relationships with external collection agencies if necessary.

Cash Application: Ensure all incoming payments (ACH, checks, wire transfers) are accurately posted to the correct customer accounts.

Credit Analysis: Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers. Approve or deny credit limits based on financial data and company policy.

Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual AR reports. Analyze key metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and bad debt reserves to provide insights to senior management.

Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in the AR process and implement automation or policy changes to streamline the "Order-to-Cash" cycle.
Qualifications & Skills
CategoryRequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience4+ years in Accounts Receivable, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
SoftwareProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Soft SkillsStrong negotiation skills, conflict resolution, and clear communication.
AnalyticalAbility to interpret financial statements and perform complex reconciliations.
