A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Financial Controller to serve as the senior financial leader for its North American operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and strategic value of all financial information across the business. The role oversees cost accounting, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and internal controls while acting as a key partner to operations and executive leadership.

This is a highly visible role that goes beyond traditional accounting. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing experience, a CPA background, and the ability to translate production activity into meaningful financial insights that drive profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.

• Manage timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

• Enhance financial systems, processes, and ERP utilization to support operational needs.

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and internal reports.

• Oversee standard cost accounting, including BOMs, labor and overhead rates, and variance analysis.

• Manage cash functions, including bank reconciliations and payment approvals.

• Support year‑end audits and participate in tax audits as needed.

• Handle sales tax filings and ensure compliance across applicable jurisdictions.

• Contribute to tax planning and compliance initiatives.

• Drive continuous improvement in internal controls, data integrity, and workflow efficiency.

• Partner with operations to deliver financial insights that support decision‑making in a manufacturing environment.

• Collaborate with HR and Payroll to ensure accurate personnel‑related financial postings and reconciliations.

• Perform additional duties as required.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA strongly preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.

• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.

• SAP experience is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
