Position Overview

An established, growth-oriented manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This role will serve as a key financial partner to the General Manager and corporate leadership, overseeing all financial and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, job costing, purchasing, and vendor management.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented leader with a strong background in operational finance and cost accounting who thrives in a dynamic, team-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

    ● Partner with the General Manager to develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial objectives.
    ● Lead the daily operations of the accounting, finance, and purchasing departments.
    ● Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
    ● Provide ongoing analysis of business performance and financial trends to support strategic decision-making.
    ● Oversee and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance and safeguarding company assets.
    ● Manage financial planning processes, including production budgets and wage/commission programs.
    ● Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
    ● Oversee preparation of business tax filings (sales/use, property, and vehicle taxes).
    ● Support management in evaluating new business ventures, capital projects, and cost initiatives.
    ● Manage relationships with financial institutions, insurance providers, and vendors.


Leadership Responsibilities

    ● Direct and develop the accounting, finance, and purchasing teams.
    ● Oversee accounts payable, receivables, payroll, inventory accounting, and general ledger functions.
    ● Ensure accuracy and productivity across all transactional and reporting activities.
    ● Maintain alignment between financial operations and overall company goals.


Qualifications

    ● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
    ● Minimum of 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related environment.
    ● Expertise in cost accounting and work-in-progress accounting principles.
    ● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
    ● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    ● Experience with ERP systems and data-driven financial reporting tools.
    ● Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels.
    ● High degree of integrity, dependability, and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
    ● Must be able to work onsite full time.
