About the Role:

The Buyer III plays a key role in supporting procurement operations and ensuring the effective management of supplies, services, and vendor relationships. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to manage purchasing activities, negotiate contracts, and maintain compliance with all applicable procurement regulations and organizational policies.

This role is ideal for an experienced purchasing professional with a background in healthcare or other regulated industries who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to excellence, accountability, and strategic supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

    ● Facilitate and implement electronic commerce procurement practices that strengthen strategic supplier relationships.
    ● Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and vendors or contractors to ensure the fulfillment of contracts.
    ● Develop and maintain supplier relationships to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve service delivery.
    ● Oversee supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, service, or delivery.
    ● Lead and participate in procurement sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management.
    ● Educate and assist departments in using electronic purchasing systems and ERP tools.
    ● Prepare bid specifications and purchasing documents for assigned supplies and services.
    ● Manage inventory levels, purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accurate records and timely procurement.
    ● Support capital purchasing processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
    ● Track and report on cost-effectiveness, purchase order timelines, and supplier performance metrics.
    ● Research and review contracts and warranties to determine repair or replacement responsibilities.
    ● Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and product innovations to make informed purchasing recommendations.
    ● Review and negotiate procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.
    ● Coordinate contract execution, documentation, and updates within the ERP system.
    ● Participate in value analysis and departmental meetings to represent supply chain interests and promote efficient resource management.
    ● Maintain confidentiality and adhere to non-disclosure requirements at all times.

Required Qualifications:

    ● Associate degree in business, supply chain, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
    ● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare or industrial purchasing environment, with strong analytical and cost evaluation skills.
    ● At least 1 year of experience reviewing contracts, preferably in a regulated industry.
    ● Proficiency in MS Office and computerized purchasing/inventory management systems.
    ● Strong understanding of purchasing laws, procedures, and sound business practices.
    ● Excellent communication, correspondence, and documentation skills.
    ● Ability to evaluate requisitions, analyze cost variances, and ensure prudent purchasing decisions.
    ● Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all procurement regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

    ● Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
    ● Professional certifications such as:
    ● Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
    ● Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    ● Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
    ● Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
    ● Experience with ERP purchasing systems and value analysis processes.
    ● Leadership experience in a healthcare or regulated procurement environment.
