Job Title: HR Assistant
Status: Non-Exempt, Entry Level
Reports to: HR Coordinator
Role Purpose
The HR Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources team, ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely handling of employee-related processes. This role is highly detail-oriented, task-focused, and requires a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with candidates, new hires, and current staff.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
● Assist with candidate prescreening and scheduling interviews.
● Support onboarding by preparing new hire paperwork, employee setup in HRIS, and conducting orientation checklists.
● Ensure employee records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
Employee Relations & Support
● Serve as the first point of contact for routine employee questions about policies, benefits, and procedures.
● Direct more complex or sensitive issues to the HR Coordinator or HR leadership.
● Promote a professional and approachable HR presence to staff and applicants.
Compliance & Administration
● Review timecards for accuracy and assist with payroll corrections.
● Support audits and compliance reviews with meticulous attention to detail.
● Maintain confidential records and uphold all HR and company policies.
General HR & Office Support
● Assist in maintaining HR files, employee communications, and compliance postings.
● Navigate multiple platforms and systems to update information.
● Support HR Coordinator and leadership with additional projects as needed.
Requirements
● 1+ year of experience in an office or administrative setting (preferred).
● Strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail-oriented.
● Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
● Ability to navigate HRIS or business platforms with ease (training provided).
● Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions
● Office-based role with occasional interaction with staff and candidates.
● Standard Monday–Friday hours, with flexibility as business needs require.
